Friendly Insects

These friendly insects are so cute as yard stakes.

Here's what you'll need to make them:

thin wooden stakes
fluffy pompoms
pipe cleaners
plastic 'googly' eyes
glue
wax paper

Directions:

Twist the end of one of the pipe cleaners into a loop, then bend it flat. This is now your base.

Take one of the fluffy pompoms, which will be the body of your insect. Stick it to your pipe cleaner base.

Decorate your insect in any way that you choose - you can add googly eyes, make legs with the pipe cleaners or even use the wax paper to make wings.

When you've finished creating, simply wind the rest of the pipecleaner that you used for your base around one of the stakes, then display your friendly insect in your yard for everyone to enjoy!

This technique can also be used to make little characters to put on the end of your pens and pencils!
