Cool Coffee Can Stilts!

Coffee Can Stilts are simple to make (with a little help from mom and dad) and are a great way to recycle something you may otherwise throw away!

Here's what you'll need to make Coffee Can Stilts...

two 1-pound coffee cans
drill, screwdriver or awl
yarn
decorations

Directions:

Turn each coffee can upside down, so that the plastic lid is on the bottom.

Using the drill, screwdriver or awl, make two holes in the base of the can (this is where mom or dad should step in!). The holes should be on either side of the can.

Thread the rope through the holes to create loops (these will be the handles). For a cool, decorative effect, you can twist or braid several yarn strands together instead of using rope.

Tie the yarn or rope off inside the cans. You should aim for the loops to be at your child's waist height when standing on the cans.

Decorate the cans using paints, glue, stickers, glitter... anything your child likes!

The cans are now ready for your kids to try on for size - they will soon be walking tall and seeing the world from a whole new perspective!
