Bubble Prints

Making bubble prints is a lot of fun and an inexpensive way to transform plain old paper into something beautiful!

Here's what you'll need to make Bubble Prints:

1 Cup Water
Food Coloring
1/4 Cup Liquid Detergent
1/4 Cup Liquid Starch*
Straws
Paper for printing

Directions:

* If you don't have any liquid starch, then save a trip to the store by making your own!

Just mix 1/2 cup of cornstarch (or cornflour) with 1/2 cup cold water. Stir well, then add 1 1/2 cups of boiling water, continuing to stir until it's mixed thoroughly. Cool before use!

In a 6" - 8" bowl, mix together water, drops of food coloring of your choice, liquid detergent, and liquid starch.

Using a straw, blow bubbles into the mixture, until the bubbles form a structure above the rim of the bowl.

Make a print by laying a sheet of white paper across the bowl rim, allowing the bubbles to pop against the paper.

Tip: If the bubbles pop too quickly, add a few tablespoons of sugar to the water.
